2008 has been a year of growth and changes for The Good BookStall. We shall start 2009 with a revamped logo which will be recognisable but different as it was felt that we needed to refresh our image.

As I and the site get older and yet more busy, it had become obvious that the work needed to be shared around more. Carole Burrows, ex-manager of SPCK Durham has rejoined the Reference Board and has taken over as Secretary, our Treasurer John Shepherd has taken on the sending out of invoices and receiving monies as well as taking care of the books and Melanie our Newsletter Editor has taken on the extra work of Marketing the site.
The audio book reviews proved another thing too many for me to keep up with and Richard Greatrex ex-manager of SPCK Bristol will be doing them in future with the help of his wife.

More reviewers have been recruited than have ceased reviewing and that has been a real help, though servicing their needs creates work too. More publishers are sending us books for review and the titles worthy of our attention seems to increase by the month. We do not pretend to review all that could be done, but have managed about 680 books since the beginning of the year. That figure surprised even me!

We do our best to keep our statistical records of ‘pages looked' at in some semblance of believable order, and we lower the figure presented to us, to try and eliminate the distortions of search engines trawling the web. Even so we have been delighted with the increase of pages viewed and with your help we hope to continue to improve.

New bookmarks will be printed in the New Year and we shall need the help of you all, to enable us to reach even more potential readers, and by so doing increase the footfall in your shops.

There are difficult times ahead for us all, but God willing, we will serve Him through another year.
